ANNUAL EVENTS
HOGtoberfest - October
Pucker up for our annual, HOGtoberfest! This all-day event, hosted in partnership with Meadowlark Foundation, benefits Meadowlark's Good Samaritan Fund. With our famous BBQ buffets, including a hog roast in the evening, plus live music, a “HOG & Kisses Contest” featuring local community members, a 50/50 raffle, and other in-restaurant events, you don’t want to miss this!
What is this “kissing contest”? Five candidates from the local community solicit votes in the form of dollars and the candidate with the most money will get to kiss a baby hog right on the snout during our event! HOG-tastic, right?
That’s not all. The Good Samaritan Fund is something to squeal about! The fund assists residents living in a healthcare household who have depleted their financial resources. Because the fund helps offset the financial gap between
private pay fees for services and government assistance program reimbursement, these residents continue receiving
the same quality of service, care, and life enhancement as those with means still available. Please show your support and join us.
Hearts n' BBQ - February
For this annual all-day event featuring BBQ buffets and more, we partner with Homecare & Hospice of Manhattan to help them raise money for their Homecare & Hospice Employee Education Fund which was was established in loving memory of Rhoda G. Culbertson, a patient at The Good Shephard Hospice House.
Rhoda recognized the financial burden that surrounds the Certified Nursing Assistants who want to take their education to the next level and wanted to help. After her passing, Rhoda’s family constructed a scholarship for the employees of The Good Shephard Hospice House to reward them for their compassionate care towards their patients as well as encourage them to further their education. What better way to spread the love in February than by showing Homecare & Hospice your support!
Pig Out for Parkinson's - April
Pig Out for Parkinson’s is just like it sounds… time to “PIG OUT” on some good BBQ for a great cause! On this day full of special events including BBQ buffets, live music, and more—a percentage of all restaurant sales is donated to the Meadowlark Parkinson's Program, which provides services to improve the quality of life for all those affected by Parkinson’s disease in the Flint Hills region.
Parkinson’s disease affects more than one million Americans, and the Cox Brothers want to help in the best way they know how… through their signature BBQ! Want to help too? Come see us in April for Parkinson’s Awareness Month!
BBQ Festival - May
Children are our future… Whitney Houston knew it and so do the Cox Brothers! Every summer, we partner with the Boys and Girls Club (BGC) of Manhattan to host a BIG celebration of our favorite food—BBQ! We invite some other local vendors to join us—and, of course, feature plenty of live music!
A percentage of all restaurant sales on this special day are donated the BGC, whose mission is to help young people reach their full potential. There is no better way to give to an organization that gives so much to others.
